This story, I know I said it two weeks ago, but this story is one of the hardest cases I've ever had to research and write.

But in July 2021, in Bridge End Wales,

a case would hit the headlines that seemed too senseless, too tragic to be true. It would

create an uproar in a country, in a world already damaged by a pandemic, a pandemic that allowed

too many abused children to slip through the cracks and were

murdered during a time when no one could see what was going on. This brutal murder of a defenceless

five-year-old at the hands of those who should have protected him. A sweet little boy who was known to

child services, but they would also fail to protect him. Another child whose life was lost because of a system too broken.

By society, he would rather turn a blind eye than get involved.

This is Logan's story.

Logan Mwangi was a happy and loving loving boy but small for his age and vulnerable.

Weighing only three stone he was helpless as his stepdad John Cole and 13-year-old

stepbrother Craig Mulligan beat him mercilessly with his own mother's encouragement.

The three of them plotted to deceive police after dumping Logan's body in the nearby River Ogmo.

They pretended to be a distraught family, but South Wales police thought otherwise.
