Elvin on the program today. She has a novel out on Soft Skull. It is called The Week Spot.

And it's one of the stranger books I've read this year. I've

read a handful that they fall into the strange category in terms of the effect that they had on me.

And this was certainly one of them. It casts a spell. And it's a unique and impressive debut.

Lucy Elvin has written for publications,

including the London Review of Books,

Granta and Noon.

She is also formerly the deputy editor of The Believer magazine.

And she now lives in London.

I had a great time meeting her and talking with her.
