On September 24th, 2014, Demi and I recorded the first episode of Gilmore Guys, where we talked about the first episode of Gilmore Girls.

One week later, we released that episode on October 1st, the same day the show hit Netflix is Streaming Service.

Over two years later, we've covered 153 episodes of the TV show, over 207 episodes of the podcast totaling 367 hours of audio content for your listening pleasure.

On November 4th, 2016, we recorded the last episode covering the network run of the show.

Just weeks away from the arrival of four new many movies on Netflix and titled Gilmore Girls a Year in the Life.

Now, as usual, we had an absolutely delightful time, gabbling with our guests, Iishimahara, so delightful, in fact, that our recording time for this one episode.

With no bathroom breaks or food breaks ended up being a staggering 6 hours and 20 minutes long.

We thought about releasing this as one episode, the whole thing, but then we agreed it would be too daunting.

And you would all touch your phones into the ocean in a fit of outrage at the set of a podcast equal to the length of the last two lore of the rings movies combined.

To line the load, we have split up the behemoth episode over two parts, both available now.

You are now listening to part one and part two awaits you once you're done.

Also, one fun note, when you see the picture we took at the end of the episode, you'll see that we're not in any of our usual recording locations.

And we talk about that on the episode. And if you look at the bench we're sitting on, it's the same one.

The exact same one we set on for the very first picture we took for our very first episode.

We didn't realize this until after we finished recording. And we thought it was a fitting bit of symmetry to conclude our journey through what we can now call the WBCW Years of Gilmore Girls.

We recorded this episode in the not too distant past. So some of our comments seem a little tone deaf for the current climate. That's why.

I think for a lot of us Gilmore Girls at its best was a warm blanket of a television show.

When times were tough, Stars Hollow was a place we could always escape to. A town marked by sublime goofiness and extraordinary kindness.

As we enter the last stretch of our show, our aim as it always is will be to try and reflect a little bit of that.

We're just a comedy show about Gilmore Girls soon about colonel year in the life and then for a little bit about bunheads.

But we're here for you and we'll be here doing this podcast for a few months more. And we continue to be so grateful for all of you and for your listenership and for letting us into your lives for a little bit.
