We are coming to you from the Paul Fitt Awards, Private Eye's annual award for investigative

journalism.

We're going to be speaking to every single nominee on the short list.

We're going to be hearing about the brilliant journalists who are carrying on the legacy of

Paul Fitt and to kick off that process, let's begin with Susie Bonneface of the Daily

We've actually been campaigning on this since the early 80s when the nuclear test

veterans first started coming forward and reporting cancers and illness and birth defects

in their children.

They've been let down by successive governments and we asked for a medal in 2018.

That went to review, got refused.

In continuation really of like a 40-year campaign, we had a one-year campaign.

We demanded that Britain's nuclear test veterans get to see the Prime Minister in person.

So for those who don't know about the nuclear test veterans, Britain carried out nuclear test

from the early 50s onwards.

The first nuclear test was in 1952 called Operation Hurricane, the Montebello Islands.
