Jessica Tietjen, J.D., is a spouse, mother, leader, lawyer, talent management professional, technology enthusiast, Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, and now a writer. After graduating from Saint Louis University School of Law, Jessica went to work for Experitec, Inc. (an Emerson Impact Partner). She initially focused on contracts and legal matters before expanding to her primary passion of Talent Management, and later broadened further to lead Information Technology, Customer Service, Project Coordination, and Order Management. For ten years, Jessica has worked to shape Experitec’s Talent Management program into an exceptional workplace by creating strategies for peak performance. Experitec has been recognized three times by Gallup with an Exceptional Workplace Award and four times by the St. Louis Post Dispatch as a Top Workplace. Jessica’s purpose in life is to help people live exceptional lives and believes workplaces can and must help contribute to them. This purpose led her to write this book and share key insights, learning, and practices to help individuals in any role, any location, and any size organization evolve to reach peak performance.

0:58.6 | When you are holding on to bitterness for someone else or for yourself, forgiveness is essential. |
1:04.6 | Remember forgiveness is letting go of the bitterness so you are free to love instead. |
1:10.6 | Tip number two, stop comparing yourself. |
1:14.6 | So often we compare ourselves to others wishing we had someone else's looks, their money, the relationship, the car, the house. |
1:21.6 | But when you compare yourself to someone else, all you're doing is reinforcing that you're not good enough and you are good enough. |
1:29.6 | Tip number three, stop criticizing yourself. |
1:32.6 | That critical voice in your head is sabotaging any chance to love yourself and to love someone else. |
1:38.6 | Instead, talk to yourself like you are talking to a child that is upset, being gentle and compassionate. |
1:46.6 | And lastly, tip number four, accept yourself. |
1:50.6 | You need to work on accepting yourself exactly the way you are. |
