I saw my first demon on the bus today.

It followed me home.

It was colder than the shady side of an iceberg.

I shivered as the city bus lumbered its way toward me,

sloshing and swaying along the snow-sodden street like a dinosaur in distress.

I reveled in its warmth as soon as I stepped on.

Immediately, something struck me as odd.

A peculiar feeling swept over me, trickling down to the bottom of my boots.

I wiped the fog from my glasses and then spotted a vacant seat at the back of the bus.

It was the only seed available.

I bumped my way through the bulky coated bodies, all the while feeling that something was dreadfully wrong.

And then I saw it.

The thing was gray or green, with heavy-set eyes dug deep into its football-shaped head.

It was wearing a face mask. We all were.

But I could still see its face somehow.

Its teeth were jagged, like the remains of a bowl of toastingos.

Lips like dental flaws,
