Hey everyone, welcome to the Council of Trent podcast. I'm your host, Catholic

0:06.8

Answers Apologist and Speaker Trent Horn. And today on my desk you can see I

0:10.5

have stacks of books because I want to share with you my recommended reading

0:15.1

for growing as an apologist. If you want to learn how to better defend the

0:19.4

Catholic faith or better defend the Christian fundamentals of our faith like

0:23.5

the existence of God, the reliability of Scripture, these are the books I want

0:27.6

to share with you. In fact, I wrote out a list that's going to be published soon

0:31.0

on the Catholic Answers online magazine. It's actually a revision of an older

list that I wrote in 2016. So I made an ultimate apologetics reading list in

0:59.8

books and titles that were released after that. I'm also changing it up because

I'm going to take I'm taking down that list and replacing it with multiple lists.

1:09.2

So today I'm just focusing on specific books written on apologetic subjects

1:15.8

that are more recent. So these are books probably written in the last 30, 40

1:21.1

years at the latest. So this list I'm going to share with you today does not

1:25.7

include classics. So I don't have stuff from Chesterton or Frank Sheade or

1:31.5

St. Francis DeSales, Catholic controversy. There's a lot of great Catholics.

1:35.5

I'm sorry, a lot of great classics in Catholic apologetics that you can read

1:39.6

and learn a lot from. So I'm not covering the classics in this episode. I want
