Summary

Since the dawn of multitasking, users have needed to juggle things on their screens. Apple has taken several swings at building good window management tools into macOS, but better solutions can be found in a long list of third-party apps. Stephen and David have tried just about all of them for this episode.

Hello, everyone. This is David Sparks. I am a Mac Power user, along with my friend

0:17.4

in yours, Mr. Stephen Hackett. How are you today, Stephen?

0:19.9

How good, David. How are you?

0:21.7

Good. I kind of broke my rule, though. I always say that Mac Power User's thing is kind

0:25.2

of aspirational, but I guess I'm a Mac Power user after 700 episodes.

We're talking about Window Management. What dirtier topic could we choose?

0:38.2

I love making these episodes where we can dive deep on a topic. We can't do that every

1:15.2

more than one Window Manager setup, and a lot of them use similar keyboard shortcuts,

1:19.8

there's only so many keyboard keys you can use for shortcuts, your computer kind of

1:24.8

goes nuts, and things get out of hand. One at a time is the way to go.

1:29.8

You accidentally trigger them. You're in a middle window, and suddenly it scrunches

1:33.8

itself on the right side of the screen, or whatever. I can see that would be madly.

1:40.8

But Window Management, the fact that we're talking about it kind of tells you that this is something

1:45.8

that needs to be talked about. Today, we're going to focus on the Mac for this episode,

1:50.8

for more power users, which is the ad-free extended version of the show.
