I have on the program today Mick Grantham. Her debut poetry collection is called Hardcore. It is available

now from short flight long drive books. It is excellent. And I really, I got to say I was talking

to Joseph Grantham. So just so you know, I feel a little silly doing this, but I feel like I kind of have to.

In full disclosure, Joseph Grantham is the brother of Mick Grantham.

Joseph Grantham works for this show as its social media director.

Joe Sr. and Patty Grantham have been to my house before.

These are Joe and Mick's parents.

So I feel like I need to break down the Grantham family tree.

At this point, I believe it is safe to say that they are the first family of American IndyLit.

It's a mantle.

You know, it rotates.

I feel like this moves around, but right now the Granthums are the first family of American

IndyLit.

Both children are fine writers, poets, mixed new collection, hardcore.

I was talking about it and I was trying to define its appeal. It's one of these poetry

collections that has a real narrative quality to it. It has distinct themes that it works on

throughout the course of the collection. It has a story arc in terms of emotional development

from poem to poem and from page one until the end.

It has a real sense of character.

You know, this is a very personal collection, written very much in Mick's voice.

And it takes you someplace and leaves you better than before. So just really enjoyed it,
