Can we talk about something else?

Hello?

Out there.

We have a lot to choose from when it comes to what we can bitch about, argue about, worry about.

The spokes on the wheel, the new cycle or blur.

It's dizzying and intoxicating, a feeding frenzy.

And all you can eat buffet of entertainment, ideology and virtue signaling.

We're running low on class, grace and humility.

It's dying with those that saw the depression.

And World War II.

These days people don't share thoughts.

They stuff them like pies and each other's faces.

Usually a sneak attack done through social media and it sure is distracting.

All of this free thought and expression we've somehow become enslaved by.

But that's just my big fat opinion.

There once was a time not too long ago when an individual had maybe three strong opinions.

And even then they could be swayed.

One of them often expressed technically by the ancient glow of flames was whether or not we're alone in the universe.

And when everyone went to bed after this campfire they lay awake for a while feeling small.

The story is still smoldering in their imaginations.

The tales of close encounters, of abduction, by aliens.
