Before all of that, we will have a little look at the situation

regarding students. I was slightly surprised, actually, to hear the absence of sympathy or the

absence of compassion for some of these young people that was displayed on elements of Nick's

show, although Nick was quite rightly explaining

why for young people this is a privation that they do not deserve and which could have been

avoided.

We'll also today talk about the pubs and I think this, look, this is what you do, all right?

This is clarity and leadership.

I'm a gob on a stick on a radio show but even even i

occasionally can see what they should be doing it failed all right well done fair crack of the whip

i understand the logic behind it it is increasingly uh hard to avoid the conclusion that it was

an idea dreamt up by nobody who'd ever been in a pub. We even tried to get behind it on this

programme on the grounds that you can't, you know, point out the flaws in everything. You've got to give things a chance to thrive before you put them out of their misery. But it's failed. The 10pm curfew has been an unmitigated and undiluted disaster. I think the mayor of Manchester, Andy Burnham, has added his voice to cause for it to be curtailed,
