Welcome back to the Lincoln Project. I'm your host, Reed Gailan. Today I'm joined by Lincoln Project

0:13.8

Senior Advisor and host of LPTV's The Breakdown, Tara Setmare. Tara, how are you?

0:19.6

I'm doing wonderful Reed, thank you. I'm also joined by Lincoln Project Senior Advisor,

0:24.1

Stuart Stevens. Stuart, good to have you here. You bet, Reed, great to be here, man.

0:28.4

Today we're going to talk about the investigation into the January 6th insurrection,

0:32.9

and we'll probably get to a little QPAC 2021. But before we get to that,

0:37.5

America's entering a new political epoch. You know, I think now that we're through

0:41.6

Trump's second impeachment, we're now getting into the rhythm of what will likely carry

0:46.4

American politics between now in November of 2022. Biden's first midterm election.

1:01.1

one of our co-founders, formulated on his Twitter feed back in January, about just what the pillars

1:07.1

of Trump is, and I want to talk a little bit about that and get your sense of that, I think we'll

1:10.9

talk a lot more about it as we go forward. But here's what Steve said. These are the seven things

1:15.8

that make up Trumpism. One is the dear leader, which obviously is Trump. Two is the propagandists,

1:22.9

the Fox News, O&N, Breitbart, Epic Times. Three are the financiers. The Steve Schwarzman's of

1:29.6

the world, the Richard U lines of the world, Sheldon Adelson, who recently passed away.

1:34.4

The cynical elite and the complicit cowards. That would be folks like Josh Hawley, Tom Cotton,

1:41.3

Ted Cruz in the first, and then the second would be the Republican senators and members of the

1:46.8

House who know better, but just sit quietly. Number five are the fascist thugs. I think a lot of

1:51.8

them were on display on January 6th. We've seen the proud boys. We've seen any number of folks going

1:56.4

back all the way to Charlottesville. Violence is a core piece, I think of Trumpism or the threat of it.
