Okay, folks, this is life on planet Porky, okay?

I'm the Porkmeister, another episode, and I hope it's going to be scintillating and exciting for you of Planet Porky.

And what happens there, what happens when you get there, and the philosophy of living there, okay? Now, let me talk about one of my favourite subjects, although it's a subject I know nothing about, because I've never actually got involved in it, but I'm talking about marriage, of course, okay, folks? Now, the reason I'm talking about marriage is because I've come across a report in one of my journals.

You know that I spend an awful lot of time studying my journals.

I spend an awful lot of time absorbing the information from my journals.

That's why so many people will tell you I'm so very well read.

Okay.

Now a guy called Paul Dolan, who is a professor of behavioural science in the London School of Economics, right,

he goes on about the relationship in marriage.

Men should get married, is his conclusion, but women shouldn't bother.

I mean, I just don't get this at all.

What Mr. Dolan says is, he says, and this is quotes from his report, men benefit from marriage

because they calm down, while the same wasn't true for women. He says, you take less risks,

you earn more money, you get better jobs and you live a little longer. The lady, on the other hand,

has to put up with that and dies sooner than if she never married.

Okay? So I'm trying to work this one out in my head.

Men should get married, but women shouldn't bother.

If men should get married but women shouldn't bother, won't there be an imbalance in society?

Because men have to marry, in the vast majority of cases a woman,

particularly if they're going to start like a family unit,

you know, what you'd call the nuclear family unit,

mum, dad, two kids, something like that.
