In early 1996, a strange thing happened on Cisco Nebert.

Jean and Roger were reviewing Broken Arrow,

the over-the-top action movie in which John Travolta burns through two nuclear warheads and about 200 cigarettes.

It was a kind of dumb, fun popcorn film Jean tended to enjoy,

and it started one of his favorite actors.

So he gave it a moderate thumbs up.

Then Roger chimed in.

It's just one special effect after another, and it's boring because the story is not interesting.

And the characters are not sharply drawn, and Travolta does not make a convincing villain.

It doesn't work. You know, as you say this, I don't think I've ever done this on the show in 20 years,

but I'm gonna twist my thumb.

I'm gonna go just like this.

Because... I told you it was?

Well, I said, I listened. It was a half-hearted endorsement.

Yeah, it was.

It had taken a few decades, but Roger had finally managed to change Jean's mind about a movie.

I'm changing my opinion now. Do me one favor.

Look in the camera and say, I was wrong about cop-in-a-half.

It wasn't a very good movie.
