Week 2 fantasy football is quickly approaching and the wide receiver position on the waiver wire

0:04.2

is loaded. A lot happened in week one and a lot of big names got injured, especially compared to the running back position. So right now the wide receivers are the hot commodity on waiver wires and these are the seven guys you need to know. If you're not familiar, I'm Salvetra. I've been helping people win their fantasy leagues for nearly eight years and plan to do the same for you in this video. Let's not bury the lead here. Let's get right into it with Marquis Hollywood

Brown, who's going to be the name that sits at top most of the waiver-wire priority list this year, and it has to do for the obvious reasons. Rossi-Rice is still suspended for five more games. Xavier Worthy this past week, if you watched on Friday night football in prime time, hurt his shoulder. Now, Hollywood Brown resigned with the chiefs this off season. But last year he only played two regular season games due to his own shoulder injury, but in those two games, he actually had seven and a half targets per contest. Honestly, who really cares about that, but it just goes to show you that Patrick Mahomes was throwing the ball his way. And if we look back outside of this year last year, we only played two games due to the injury, Before that, this guy, Marquis Hollywood Brown, 100 targets, 100 targets, 145, 100 targets.

All he did was go out there. He only played two games due to the injury. Before that, this guy, Marquis Hollywood Brown,

100 targets, 100 targets, 145, 100 targets. All he did was go out there and earn triple digit targets

in his career because this guy is very good at getting open. He's a player who predominantly

1:05.0

has played on the outside in his career, but when moved into the slot in smaller sample sizes,

1:09.0

like many talented receivers, finds a lot of success. And that's what we saw in that week one Friday game, because as I mentioned here, the biggest competition entering the season for the first six weeks was supposed to be Xavier Worthy. All reports coming into and out of that week one game where that Xavier Worthy was going to have the offense around him, focused around him without Rossi Rice. Unfortunately, on play three of the game, Xavier Worley suffers a shoulder injury.

1:29.8

At best, he's going to return in three to four weeks with a very high likelihood of re-injury or at worst, we'll miss the whole season due to surgery. And that's backed up right here by SportsMD analysis, Deepak Chona over on Twitter. Be sure to follow him. He says Xavier Worthy without surgery returns in about three weeks with a 50% re-injury risk would mean season over if

1:44.7

he re-injures it. As a younger player who's still fighting for his second contract, it's going to be up to him if he wants to risk it, get injured, and then potentially be out with complications for a year. So in Steps Hollywood Brown in that game. And what does he go out there and do? Well, he has 99 receiving yards.

1:57.3

Just misses the bonus if you're in a league with bonuses for 110 receptions,

2:01.1

16 targets as of this recording, which'm recording this before monday night football

2:05.0

as of this recording marquis hollywood brown well he ends up leading every single player right now

2:09.7

in targets across all positions in the nfl not something you were probably expecting and during the

2:14.1

week now if we look at the pf snap counts and usage you could see right right here, Hollywood Brown led the team in snaps, led the team in routes run.

2:19.5

Targets. They chart him for 14 targets, depending on other sources, 16 targets is what we're seeing right now. That's kind of just depends on like how they view a target if it was over his head, if it was a throwaway, that type of stuff. as you could see though if we're going to assume

2:31.3

Xavier worthy is at which he will be

2:33.5

this is his competition

2:34.7

juju was second on the team in routes

2:36.5

and routes Run and snaps. Tyquan Thorin, mostly an outside receiver was third. And that's very important to call out because he's an outside receiver. Field stretcher, you saw him make a big catch in that game. Tyquant Thorin, the former Patriot, but he's probably never going to be playing out of the slot for this team or all that much. In fact, the guy who was seeing a lot of slot usage in this game, sure,

2:53.5

Juju Smith-Schuster was, as he's a little bit older and mostly has been a slot receiver in his

2:57.1

career. But according to Jacob Gibbs on Twitter, you can see right here, Marquis Brown was in the
