Hello and welcome to another little listener episode of Real Life Goal Story.

Sorry, Bim is beside us having her dinner so if you can hear a little munching in the background it's actually not me.

It's her. So this is mini episode seven. I hope that you are enjoying them so far. I am definitely

enjoying doing them because it's something different and we're gonna go straight

into our first story and that first story comes from Brittany. My grandfather grew up on the

reservation in Gala, New Mexico. His mother was Yaki and Navajo and his dad was Navajo. I grew

up hearing stories of skin walkers and to this day I am terrified of coyotes. You don't have to be

on or near the reservation to see them. About five years ago my husband and I were driving just to

the outskirts of our town where my family has a few acres of land but five houses and some

horse areas surrounded by desert. As we drove past this one particular house I looked out of my

window to the left I was in the passenger seat. I saw a coyote look in creature. Now I will say

that it was four to five times the size of a coyote and way more muscular. Its skin and fur were

red and splotchy like an animal with mage. His eyes were large but they were human eyes.

Like there was something like emotion behind them like anger. It's hard to explain without

sounding properly bonkers. It was dusk so not completely dark yet. As I saw this creature my

hearts skipped a beat and in my head I began to pray. While I do have native roots I am Protestant.

That doesn't mean there isn't something out there that aims to harm and seek destruction.

Protestants call them demons and Navajo people call them skin walkers. As I prayed to my husband

the praise of my husband. As I prayed my husband then boyfriends looked at my face and looked at my

window. It was then that the creature stood up and rang with an awkward, lanky gate not towards us

but away and into the yard of the first house on the corner just staring and arching its back.
