We have been told why the police body cam video of the Thurmond Levin shooting was

released on a Sunday night. Has that ever been determined? Is that important? I

don't know. The question was raised to the mayor about the release, but I don't

know that we got a real answer. How much of the mayor do you have on audio? I have

a good fry. Let me just see what how that times out. I've got, let's see, up until

he answers questions. And that is about three minutes, three minutes and 10 seconds. I

While the body camera footage is now released, this is just one part of an effort to bring

greater transparency to these processes. In the weeks and months ahead, we will undoubtedly

learn more. In this quest to bring about greater transparency, there will be pain. Transparency

is not the absence of pain in cases like this. It is an acknowledgment of it. And I know

that right now in our city, there is a lot of pain. Pain in many cases that I can't fully

understand. I did not experience the pain of systemic inequities that continue to exist

in areas well beyond policing and public safety. Stop.

The narrative that Mysterians sell or peddle is precisely what the mayor just said there.
