All right, the FBI in the White House is sharply criticizing a move by Senator Chuck Grassley.

The Iowa Republican releasing an internal FBI document with unverified claims from 2016

that President Biden and his son Hunter reportedly received bribes from the CEO of the Ukrainian

Energy Company Burisma.

Now Grassley says he is able to release that document.

It's called a form 1023 because of, quote, legally protected disclosure by Justice Department

whistleblowers.

But the FBI says Grassley's release of this unverified information at a minimum risks

the safety of confidential sources and the White House sharply criticized Republicans

for pushing long debunked claims.

Christine Romans at CNN today, that was the entirety of their coverage on the FBI document.

Now seven years old, I wonder if they've had time to verify the claims made by their

highly credible confidential source, to whom they have provided hundreds of thousands

of our taxpayer dollars.

I think you use confidential sources so you can get information that might lead to prosecutions.

Or in this case, not the FBI.

Oh, we've got to protect our sources at the expense of prosecuting crimes.

That makes no sense.
