7,000 nurses at two major hospitals in New York City are on strike and yet another expression of the fighting spirit growing across the labor movement in the United States.

The nurses are protesting inadequate pay and extreme short staffing that leads what they call to unbearable

conditions, a situation that has become all too common across the country as the capitalist

health care system reels in the wake of the pandemic.

We need a new system. We need a new society.

We need to demand that which may have sounded impossible even a few weeks ago, but is not

only realizable, but an imperative necessity. We are excited to have Professor Richard Wolffe join us again for our regular weekly segment
