They stalk alongside, watching us wanderers, fallik away from the herd, waiting to deliver death.

Adventurous women like me are particularly vulnerable, but also I believe are more aware when in the presence of danger.

This is the story of my first solo adventure and my first rush with one such predator.

In the late summer before my freshman year of college, I got my driver's license in a shiny yellow Jeep Wrangler.
