Hi, Anthony. I like that you said comics and a whole bunch of other stuff. And I was like,

I think those are all Anthony. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's written comics on that.

Probably, but yeah. Anyway, so Dan, you have recently published a new novel.

And so this is the latest in a sort of occasional semi-series of episodes that we do on The Incomparable talking to panelists about their work.

Now, listeners out there, fans of Dan's writing, of whom I am one, naturally, and I know

that there are many others amongst our listenership, you will know that up until now, all of Dan's

novels have taken place in his Galactic Cold War universe, a sci-fi setting, but this latest

book that we're here to talk about today is something new. So, Dan,

take it away and tell us about all souls lost. Yeah, all souls lost. I mean, I guess I

determined at one point, I only have one move when it comes to writing, you know, fiction that I'm

interested in, which is to take a couple different genres that I like and like smash them together until eventually it works. So like for the Galactic Cold War,

that was I loved Cold War spy fiction and I loved sci-fi. And so I wanted to combine those.

In this case, with All Souls Lost, I'm a big fan of like hard-boiled slash noir detective novels, as well as enjoying sort of your supernatural
