Summary

We have a rebuttal to a keyboard warrior who took issue with our commentary on Hitler's medical history, which is a sentence we never thought we'd write. Susie explains why discussing shame is critical to understanding human behavior. We learn about a dog who inherited $500M when his owner died, and why things are not at all what they appear to be. The documentary Gunther's Millions tells the story of this dog (and it's heirs), his handler, and the strange way depression, a search for meaning, and tax law all play into the story of this fortune. Susie discusses the Volcano documentary that tells the story of a popular tourist attraction that seemed like controled risk turned into a life or death situation for some unsuspecting people on vacation. We talk about a book about autism that argues for the public perception to shift instead of resorting to "traumatic" behavioral therapy for people on the spectrum. We debate the word "trauma" and how it is being used more frequently now as a synonym for discomfort. We hear about scholars who have finally decoded Mary Queen of Scots's letters sent from prison after her cousin Queen Elizabeth I imprisoned her.

putting up our new equipment and stuff, I was in my mind thinking about the

people that are like, aren't they done yet? I'm like, are you kidding bitch? I'm

0:45.6

just getting started. Are you kidding me? I got big plans over. I hope to one day

0:50.3

be big enough to where there are other people sitting in when we do the

of our, I don't know, like, like the funny things that people laugh at that we do

1:07.1

on the show, like, yeah, random Google searches, could not have your

story. But that that feels like you like made it big when like somebody.

1:16.0

Yes, someone fact checks you in real time. Yeah. One day people. One day.

1:21.0

Yeah, it's going to happen. Can I have a confession actually? Because I am

1:26.8

always thinking about brain candy and I want to make it really great. And I'm

1:29.8

always trying to improve it. And I got to be honest with you. I don't listen to

1:35.2

Joe Rogan, but I do see clips of him on YouTube. Whenever he has comedy guests,

1:43.4

then it recommends them to me on YouTube. Yeah. He is a tremendous interviewer.

1:49.6

Correct. I've always known this, but I wish he wouldn't say so much dumb stuff

1:56.8

that makes you want to just throw the baby out with the bath water. But his

interviews are phenomenal. Not as good as Howard Stern or anything. Right. But

2:06.5

I'm just saying not all that Howard Stern. Admires and appreciates every single

person that he talks to and has a curiosity about them. Yeah. Makes him such a
