Okay, Sajun Suzuki, born Saitara Suzuki, 24th May, 1923 to February 13th.

Was a Japanese filmmaker, actor, and screenwriter. His films are known for their jarring, visual

style, irreverent humor, nihilistic, cool, and entertainment over logic sensibility.

So, wait, why are you reading the Wikipedia entry, Will? Because that's what I did this week. Well, you watched some of his movies, too. I did. I watched two of his films. I watched probably his two most famous films, I dare say. Tokyo Drifter and Branded to Kill. What did you watch this week? I watched Tokyo Drifter, Brandon to Kill, some of his older pictures when he was doing B-movies for double bills.

And I watched some of his later pictures as well after he came back from his blacklist, including a story of sadness and sorrow.

Wow, you just put me to shame every week in the work you do.

So, Sergeant Suzuki is someone who Justin and I, I guess, only had a nodding acquaintanceship with before this week.

I think I got off on the wrong foot with him, frankly, a few years ago, because

sometimes when I would visit my parents in Kitchener, you know, we would watch a movie, and

sometimes I'd rent something from the video store. We had video stores back then that I hadn't,

that I hadn't seen or that I had seen. And, you know, sometimes I'd have good luck, like a new leaf by Elaine May or Nashville.

But then one day I rented this movie branded to kill.
