All right, men, welcome back to the Daily Blade this week as we prepare for Easter,

which is coming up in a couple of weeks. What we're going to do is we're going to look at

the seven sayings of Christ on the cross. We're going to do them in order. We're going to

cover seven sayings in five days, so there'll be a couple of days that we squeeze them together.

We'll start in Luke chapter 23, beginning of verse 32.

The Bible says, and two others who were criminals were led away to be put to death with him.

And when they came to the place that is called the skull, there they crucified him.

And the criminals, one on his right and one on his left and jesus said

father forgive them for they know not what they do and they cast lots to divide his garments now if you've

been around church for any length of time at all you have heard that jesus died on the cross for you so many times you can't even count. You've heard that Jesus was crucified

for our sin. And you know, oftentimes we just run right past these verses. And I just want to

remind you that the Romans had perfected crucifixion. The crucifixion was the most excruciating way that one could die.

In fact, the word excruciating comes from the root word crucifixion, which means to suffer,

to face extraordinary pain. The nails would go through the hands and the feet of the criminal,

that they would be lifted up onto a cross,

a cross beam that they carried to their place of death, would then be nailed to a post that

would be put in the ground, and that most people died, not from bud loss, though some did,
