0:55.1 | We want people to practice authentic self-care and not take on so much that they burn out. |

1:06.6 | I mean, I host a podcast called The Slowdown. |
1:11.3 | I legitimately want you to slow down. |
1:16.6 | But it does beg the question, who can afford to slow down? |
1:22.8 | In my poetry community, so many of us are working numerous jobs as instructors, editors, |
1:30.2 | freelance copywriters, teachers, grocery store clerks, bartenders, servers, and so on. |
1:37.2 | Of course, we care about making money and want security and freedom like everyone else. |
1:43.7 | But we also care about making poems, about staring long and hard at something until it |
1:49.2 | changes and transforms. |
1:51.5 | Still, we want food on the table and safety. |
1:55.7 | And even, yes, luxuries, poets love luxuries, don't be fooled by our somber countenances. |
2:03.8 | We are very into pleasure. |
2:06.5 | And we work hard for it. |
