Jeremiah chapter 31 verse 33

for this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days declares the Lord.

I will put my law within them and I will write it on their hearts and I will be their

God and they shall be my people.

Oh, what a beautiful promise that God gives to his people in the Old Testament.

God says, I'm not just going to give my law to you

such that it is outside of you and you do your best to follow it. We've seen all throughout the Old Testament that God's people are not able to follow

his law. God says in the New Covenant, I'm going to put my law within you. I'm going to write my law on your heart.

And the picture we see in other promises of the new covenant is you will be transformed from the inside out

so that you will not have to follow my rules or try to follow my rules

you will want to follow my rules, you will want to follow my rules, and be able to follow my rules because

of my power at work in you, inside of you. What an amazing promise that we then realize in the

New Testament. When we see the picture of salvation starts with

regeneration, God of salvation,

God gives us a new heart.

Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus in John 3,

you must be born again, like new life, born of water and of spirit, the spirit of

God giving you new life so that you have a new heart that wants to follow God.

Oh, we've got to be very, very careful.
