Summary

Jeff Carreira is a meditation teacher, mystical philosopher and author who works with a growing number of people throughout the world. As a teacher, he offers retreats and courses guiding individuals in a form of meditation he refers to as The Art of Conscious Contentment. Through this simple and effective technique, he has led thousands of people in a journey beyond the confines of fear and self-concern into the expansive liberated awareness that is our true home. As a philosopher, Jeff is interested in defining a new way of being in the world that will move us from our current paradigm of separation and isolation into an emerging paradigm of unity and wholeness. In his books and lectures, he explores revolutionary ideas in the domains of spirituality, consciousness, and human development. He creates courses and programs that encourage people to question their most foundational experience of reality until previously held assumptions fall away leaving space for a dramatically new understanding to emerge. Jeff is passionate about the potential ideas have to shape how we perceive reality and how we live together. His enthusiasm for learning is infectious, and he has taught at colleges and universities throughout the world. Jeff is the author of numerous books including: The Path of Spiritual Breakthrough: From Awakening to Cosmic Awareness American Awakening: Evolutionary Spirituality, Non-Duality, and Free Thinking in the Tradition of American Philosophy Philosophy Is Not a Luxury: Four Reasons to Start Thinking About How You Think The Soul of a New Self: Embracing the Future of Being Human Paradigm Shifting: Guiding Evolution from the Inside The Art of Conscious Contentment Website: jeffcarreira.com Discussion of this interview in the BatGap Community Facebook Group. The Welcome to Buddha at the Gas Pump.

My name is Rick Archer.

0:29.6

Buddha at the Gas Pump is an ongoing series of conversations with spiritually awakening people.

0:35.6

We've done nearly 700 of them now. And if this is new to you and you'd like to check out previous ones, please go to batgap.com and look under the past interviews menu. This whole enterprise is made possible through the support of appreciative listeners and viewers. So if you appreciate it,

0:55.6

and would like to help support it, there's a PayPal button on every page of the website and also

1:01.3

a page suggesting alternatives to PayPal. If you feel like it, subscribe to the YouTube

1:07.2

channel and like the video. Those things trigger YouTube's algorithm and cause it to

1:13.7

bring this content to more people who would be interested in it. One other thing is that I've been

1:19.2

on this campaign for a couple of years now to get all the interviews transcribed, and it's made a lot of

1:23.8

progress. It's got a long way to go. But a couple of things have happened recently.

1:28.3

One is I started using some software created by the people who create chat GPT and it's extremely

1:35.3

accurate.

1:36.3

So I've run all the interviews through that software, but they still need a little tweaking.

1:40.3

So I'm looking for volunteers to help proofread them.

1:43.3

And I also discovered just this week that

1:46.0

if a person is registered as a non-English speaker, they're given an option to have subtitles

1:52.6

of something they're watching translated into their language. So it's important to have accurate

1:59.5

subtitles in English so the translation can be more

2:02.1

accurate. So that's an added justification for my motivation to do this. So if you happen to be

2:07.9

speaking a non-English language and trying to watch this, look at your menus. There should be an

2:13.4

option for translating it into your language. They translate it into over 100 languages now.

2:18.4

Anyway, my guest today is Jeff Carrera. I've known of Jeff for a long, long time.
