1:12.7	Since in the southern hemisphere, it's actually the winter solstice.
1:17.9	Many pagans today call this the holiday of litha, which basically means gentle or navigable,
1:28.0	and litha was actually the word for the months of summer when the winds were gentle and
1:34.2	helped people navigate in northern Europe.
1:38.3	According to scholar Patty Wengton, early pagans of your in Ireland, for example,
1:45.9	celebrated mid-summer by setting large wheels on fire and then rolling them down a hill
1:53.1	into a body of water, something we clearly will not be doing in California anytime soon,
1:58.9	unless we want to set off Armageddon.
2:02.3	But we still love to celebrate the sun as the life force of our solar system.
