I'm excited because today we're going to answer the question,

how does someone go from being a seven-year-old kid who doesn't even know that you can put

your hand on the fretboard of a guitar and can only play this?

Two, by the time he's in his 20s, becoming an incredible lead guitar player,

and also incredible bandleader, lead singer, and songwriter,

to the point that by the time he gets his first major label release around 1999, I think it was,

this guy and his crew conquer it, man.

They break down the wall.

They crack the code.

They connect with the number one song that many say was the most played song on the radio in the year 2000. It's called everything you want.

Oh, and it's rising at the back of your mind. You never could get it.

Of course, we're talking about Matt Scannell, the lead guitarist and lead singer, and just playing lead er, of Vertical Horizon.

And Matt in Vertical Horizon, they sold 2 million copies of that, and that was just their first major label release. They've had so many great albums since then and as you'll find out a couple of great records before then too that they sold basically out of the trunks of their car.
