Hello, this is Paul McKenna, and welcome to the positivity podcast.

My objective is to interview the most interesting people in the world,

and in the next 30 minutes, get insights and even discover how it is that they do what they do,

what makes them unique and fascinating, their success

mindset, and certainly what keeps them positive.

My guest today is a ballroom dancer, singer, comedian, author and television presenter,

best known as a professional dancer and judge on the BBC One show Strictly Come Dancing.

I'm talking today with

Anton Debeck. I don't plan for sort of five years time. I don't think about five years time.

I'm sort of presuming I'm going to be in a better place than I am now. But just don't give up on your

dreams. I know it's an old, lots of people say it all the time. You don't need to know what you need to be doing in five years time. I like to open that diary up at that week and go, what's my week look like? And I go, great. And I go, that's excellent. I've got a day of gold on Friday. That's perfect. And then I've got all this other stuff in. Marvelous. And that's as far as I look. You should never look back, really. That's one of the

things I never do. I never look back. Regrets. I've had a few, but then again, so many to mention. The Positivity podcast with Paul McKenna.

That is the nicest introduction I think I've ever had. It's as though I wrote it myself,

but I didn't, which is even more delightful. Thank you very much indeed. Nice to see. You look very well.

I am very well, actually. Did you have a childhood dream? Did you always want to be dancer? Do you know, when I was a boy, there were only three channels on the television, and they didn't go on all night long. I remember when Channel 4 was launched and we had a black and white, I mean, it sounds like I'm 95 years old, and I'm not.

But that was literally it.

We lived on the Council of State.

My parents were both foreign.

They both came over from, one, my father came over from Hungary.

My mother came over from Spain, but they sort of had to leave their countries that were in sort of turmoil.
