Summary

"I am not going up on that stage crying, but I don't want to dismiss this moment! I want to take this all in and I want to feel this. It was an incredibly powerful thing."

It was a New York City Marathon to remember. I had the privilege of getting to be a part of the international, ESPN, and ABC7 broadcasts on race day. I hosted a live show with Ellie Kemper. I ran the Dash to the Finish Line 5K. I was the race announcer at the TCS Run with Champions youth race. It was all the best. This is my exhaustive recap of every step.

Welcome to the Alley on the Run Show. I'm your host

Ali feller and how many times have I said this this year? It's good to be back.

0:12.1

I've taken more little breaks this year than any

0:14.9

other time in the history of the Alley on the Run Show, but I swear I have a good reason.

0:19.8

And it's good to be back. I am so excited to be sitting down today to talk all things

0:24.8

2023 TCS New York City Marathon. Historically I have a tradition of recording this episode

0:32.1

as soon as I get back from my trip to New York City.

0:35.2

This year, that didn't happen because I got back from my trip.

0:38.3

I went straight to chemotherapy, round three, and then I got sick and I lost my voice for 10 days so I am

0:46.4

finally sitting down on November 20th to see what I can remember from this

0:51.0

year's New York City marathon which to, to state the obvious, it was one for the books.

0:55.0

Personally, professionally, it was amazing, incredible, wonderful, life changing, affirming, all of the absolute best things.

1:05.0

So I'm going to walk you through day by day.

1:08.0

I didn't do a good job this year of keeping notes normally,

1:11.0

if you know me, if you've been around for a little while on big

1:14.5

marathon weekends like this I always keep really detailed notes in the notes app in my

1:18.6

phone so I can come on here and be like and then I saw Kellyn Taylor in the hotel lobby or then I was in the

1:24.8

bathroom at this random restaurant and I ran into Mebb Kefleski. Well no I probably

1:29.3

wouldn't run into him in a bathroom but maybe on my way to or from. Anyway, I normally keep detailed notes. This

1:35.0

was the first time that I didn't do that. I think I was just overwhelmed and kind of

1:39.0

just wanted to be present and not on my phone quite as much.

1:43.2

And I'm glad I did that though it will make this recap
