He was on a couple of years ago, I think.

He's been a busy guy.

He's published three books during the Trump presidency.

It's an examination of this country from its founding to the present day.

It's an attempt to understand how we got to this point.

And I've been trying very hard to keep this show literary over the past several months because I feel like we all have enough of politics, we have enough of the election,

everywhere else we look, and this show, I think, functions as a kind of respite from that.

But considering the fact that we're a week out from Election Day, it makes sense to have

Jared on the program and to talk openly about this country and about the moment that we're in.

I don't hide my politics. I don't like that. I know I probably lose some listeners by doing that, but that always bothered me when I, you know, that always bothers me when I'm listening to somebody on television or on the radio who is coy.
