We've got Mike Chamberlain, who is a professor at the University of Georgia,

So Mike, give me and the listeners a bit of a breakdown on your

background and you know your education as far as where you studied as well as what got your love for wild turkeys and how that's got you where you're at now.

Yeah, so I was the suburban kid that grew up having a dad that hunted on the weekends. I grew up in

Virginia. Been a hunter since I was a child. Did my undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech in Wildlife Science and from

there was lucky enough to get an offer to go to graduate school at Mississippi State and at the time I was

interested in turkeys but my real passion was was dear anything with antlers and to some degree I'm still an

antler addict and but that's a different story but I was I was given an option to

to choose a couple of different research projects that were available

and one of them was on wild turkeys and I thought well turkey hunting is great, I love doing

it, let's go with a turkey project and boy that was a that was a faithful decision because from there I ended up

completing my master's degree and then was given a chance to stay on at that university

and do a PhD program again focusing on turkeys except the gist of that study was looking at how turkeys interact with their

predators, bobcats, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, etc. So I did a lot of work with

all of those species and turkeys and then from there
