Summary

This week: Are Brexit jihadis using the summer break to acclimatise voters to No Deal as if it’s some sort of sensible idea instead of kamikaze economics? ALSO: Chilli con Carney on the menu as Bank of England boss Mark Carney receives a punishment beating for doing his job. Wild praise for Emily Maitlis and a terrible shoeing for Bernard Jenkin MP. Steve Bannon in a Monopoly top hat and monocle. The Telegraph tells the Tories they’re not right-wing enough. And what Brexit will mean for carers of aged or infirm relatives. Spoiler: it’s women who’ll bear the brunt. PLUS: we’re delighted to welcome back the much-missed ROS TAYLOR who brings her unique Brexit insights to the show, including how the female Leave vote was partly swayed by… whale meat and bullfighting? “You’ll be sitting in your own poo, with no sandwiches. That’s Brexit.” This week’s REMAINIACS is presented by Dorian Lynskey with Alex Andreou, Ros Taylor and Ian Dunt. Audio production: Jack Claramunt. Remainiacs is a Podmasters production. We'll check that later. Maybe it did. I'm Doreen Linskin, it's Romaniax reassemble edition this week as we're delighted to welcome Ros Taylor of the LSC Trouff.

0:58.0

I'm Ros Taylor of the LSC Truth Trust and Technology Commission back to the show after too long. Hi Ros how are you?

1:03.0

I'm fine, I missed you. We've missed you too.

1:07.0

And we haven't had you on the show since the story of leave EU's Dark Ads broke. On our Twitter you point out that two of these dodgy ads were targeted only at women.

1:15.0

Whale meeting bullfighting. Two of the things that women's magazine is they're never off the cover.

1:24.0

I'll tell you why they're not the seller because we ladies don't like hearing about that kind of stuff bulls being killed and whales being killed is not nice.

1:35.0

No, I was very excited when they released these there was this dump basically which should come about because of the department for culture media and sports.

The Leccomit is digging and they had finally got all this information from Facebook about the leave ads and it turned out and I did quite a lot of digging.

1:51.0

It took me about an hour or so anyway and found that all the whale meat ads and all the bullfighting ads were aimed entirely at women.

2:00.0

So the only way you would have seen them as a bloke would be a fish woman shed them and then it popped up on your feet because of that.

2:05.0

Now this is really significant because they were all on the same day all the whale meat ones 5th of May 2016 and they were served to 1.3 between 1.3 and 1.5.5 million impressions.

2:19.0

That's a lot. Even if 5.5 million impressions that's coming up to probably a quarter of if not more a third of the voting of the female voting population in this country.

2:29.0

So that's a lot and these are issues on which there was no public debate during the round to break Brexit.

2:35.0

We'll fight in whale meat just not tackle because they're completely relevant to Brexit but that just shows you women were encouraged to vote leave on issues totally unscrupulous by the media.

2:45.0

Were they aiming at them because the women or that would just so happen that the algorithms that were relevant?

2:51.0

No, they ended up women. Yeah, just for women, just for the girls.
