Summary

Your goals should not be too complex. The process of clarifying the path to achieve your vision and breaking it down into realistic major milestones is key to understanding how to get there, building belief as you check them off, and ultimately achieving the goal. This applies to anything you want to pursue in life or in business. Understanding that if you don’t hit the next milestone, there is no next one, and thus no finish line, allows you to focus on the immediate with clear intention. You can then approach the milestone in front of you with more detail, more strategy, more effort. Like anything, you will get better and better at breaking down your goals over time, identifying the right milestones, and optimizing your time to achieve each milestone and prepare to tackle the next. These milestones may evolve over time, but the more clarity you have about the pathway, the easier it will be to precisely augment them to stay on track.

And as you know in this show, I'd just love to share the philosophies that I, you know, not only, you know, have applied or learned in my journey.

1:17.1

But as I'm living it and growing and evolving, you know, these ideas are becoming more clear to me.

1:18.3

And I'm also needing to continually apply them, you know, especially since I've really been,

1:25.3

you know, doing the podcast and doing a lot of different

1:27.9

interviews and sharing like, you know, my overall philosophy and way of thinking and working

1:34.7

on creating the book. It's become this super interesting sort of meta experience of like

1:43.0

understanding what are sort of these core things that are part of, you know,

1:47.4

my personal philosophy that I need to continually keep applying.

1:51.8

And then as I'm sort of learning and evolving, adding that to like, oh, I got to think about

1:56.9

that and add that to the system, you know, and these are the core things that I continually

2:02.6

do over and over versus these are some more complex things that are for, you know, later

2:08.9

stages or more complex systems that I'm doing to create more optimization in my life, right?

2:15.1

And one of the big things I've been thinking about lately is just

2:18.9

goal setting, right? Because it's, it's something in itself that, you know, it's essential. And

2:26.2

everybody does it in their own sort of style. And obviously, you know, through the Deer Deck machine
