I mean, it was the last trimester of my pregnancy and you guys I'm not

exaggerating when I say we finished recording the last episode and the sentence you know it was given and I went to the hospital and had a baby and today is my

baby's six month birthday meaning we are only six months removed and we are here to discuss a motion for

new trial that has been filed by pooty pootleian the defense counsel for Alec Murdoch, after he'd been convicted of murdering

his wife and son Nary six months ago.

Brett, everybody wants to know how serious this motion for new trial is,

what's contained in it, what are the legal standards,

and we are going to give all of that to you today because there really is a lot to discuss and I have to admit Brett when I first saw people posting and all the kind of news articles flashing across my screen that said motion for new trial.

I dismissed it. I didn't click on any of the articles because a motion for new trial as we have told all of you before on many episodes before is is filed in just about

every case it is filed in every case where there's a conviction it's kind of like

yours you take all your different shots so I didn't even take the time to

click on the article and didn't really look at the motion until enough people were

asking questions that I thought you know what let me scan through this motion for new trial that surely can't contain much substance. Oh I was a little bit wrong Brett.
