don't. Today is episode 66, the Lazy Genius Yard Sale. It's June and there's a

chance one of your summer projects is to have a Yard Sale and get rid of all

your stuff. There are lots of ways to do a Yard Sale right and even more ways to

do it wrong or at least in a way that makes you a little crazy. So today we're

going to map out the basics of a lazy genius Yard Sale so that if you do have one

you'll be glad you did. We're going to talk about your stuff, the setup, pricing,

signs, haggling and my most important Yard Sale Tip. Let's jump in. All right so

first let's talk about your stuff and we're going to talk about my most

important Yard Sale. It's not really a tip, it's more of a rule I guess.

Here's the rule. If you put it out to sell it it is not allowed back in your

house. I am a big believer in choosing one exit strategy for all of your stuff.

If you are in a pre-summer purge you might have piles, physical or mental

piles of stuff you'll sell on Craigslist, stuff you'll donate to your church,

a pile for your sister to go through, stuff to sell on your Yard Sale. If you'd

like to spend your mental energy doing it that way I support you completely but

I choose not to do it that way. It sucks me dry to have multiple paths for my

stuff. So I am a major proponent of one exit strategy and that one strategy is

usually Yard Sale. So if that's your choice too your most important rule is

that nothing that exits your house is allowed back in. We get sentimental, we
