On July 9th 1993, a group of law students waited in the lobby on the 34th floor of the Toronto

Dominion Bank Tower.

They were interested in apprenticeships at the law firm there, Holden Day Wilson.

That's when they were met by a 38 year old lawyer named Gary Hoi, described as one of the best

and brightest lawyers at the firm.

Hoi had given these tours before. They tended to be pretty mundane.
