We're back in the minds of talking about conservative art and culture

this week. We're visiting our old friend Kevin Sorbo, a two brief a treat, I would say, more on that

later. So I think this is as good a time as any to talk about some recent developments that

threatened to disrupt our very understanding of conservative art and culture.

Y'all may remember that on this podcast, we are amateur historians of the Walking Tall franchise.

Walking Tall was a film from the year 1973 that was remade in 2004.

The original film starred Joe Don Baker as Sheriff Buford Pusser. He was an actual

sheriff of McNary County, Tennessee from 1964 to 1970. If you look up a picture of him,

you will see the median Richard Nixon voter. Yeah, yeah, very much so. Yeah, he looks like,

he looks like a Robert Crum drawing of a bully.

He was known for being a tough law and order sheriff and for wielding a big two-by-four, a big stick.

That stick became the iconic feature of every walking tall film.

The 1973 film was, of course course a hagiographic, heavily

fictionalized biopic of his adventures, cleaning up this small Tennessee town from corruption.
