And today we are going to be talking about the case of Eric Smith.

So today we are going to be talking about one of the most unthinkable crimes imaginable,

which is when a child kills another child.

Because at the age of just 13, Eric Smith carried out an absolutely horrific act.

And oh god, these cases are always just horrible.

And at the time, as these cases involving children so often do,

and usually because the brutality of the crime, it became a huge media sensation.

And Eric ended up making national headlines.

And we actually have a very similar case happen here in the UK,

which if you're from the UK, I'm sure you've heard of this,

which was the murder of two-year-old James Bulger.

And that murder was carried out by two 10-year-old boys.

But what is really strange about those two cases is that they happen at a very similar time to one another.

The cases took place less than six months apart.
