So there I was in the back of the room at an internet marketing conference.

And if you could see me talking right now, I just used some air quotes.

They called it an internet marketing conference.

I'd just gone full time.

I just decided that this is what I was going to do for my career, to work online,

to build a serious business. So, of course, what's the first thing you do? You go to an

internet marketing conference, right? I was having some success. I thought, this is the next step.

And man, I couldn't have been more disappointed. I was over the top upset with myself for having promoted

the event to the handful of followers that I had at the time, many of whom were there with me.

And yes, I met a couple of really great people at this event, but the content itself was

beyond disappointing. And no, I won't tell you exactly what event it was.

But that's foundational to the topic that I'm going to address today.

That story helps me remember exactly why I do what I do.

You see, there's a question that we get very predictably around here,

and it's always from people who have only

been around a few weeks at most. And the question goes something like this, and maybe you've

thought it. I've certainly thought it myself, especially when I was new. The question is this,

if you're so good at making money online, why are you spending all your time teaching other people

how to make money online?

Shouldn't you just be focusing on making money and doing it yourself instead of charging money to teach other people?

It's a fair question.

It's a great question.
