And how long of the two have you been together? Eight years. Oh, wow. Such a long time. Yeah, June 28th was our anniversary.

Congratulations. That's wild. Because you're only how old right now? 28. 28. Your whole 20s,

your whole 20s. Yeah, since we were little babes. Yeah, that's impressive. Okay. And will you give me some context for what this, what this parenting setup is?

So indigenous customary care, it's a child welfare system that's kind of been decolonized

a little bit.

So instead of children coming into care and being deemed like foster children or

taking avenues for adoption, they decided to do customary care, which puts a lot of the power

back into the indigenous community's hands to make agreements for people. And what it does is

it empowers the communities to make sure that the children

stay connected to their culture, stay connected to family members.

Openness is very important in customary care of humans.

And with these, there's a hint of like uncertainty in it just because it's not like mainstream

adoption or like a children's aid society.

There's no like guarantees if that makes sense. So we could have our baby for five years.

We could have our baby for in teen years like, you know, like life. Right. And it really helps the communities that have really

experienced a lot of trauma from like the 60s scoops. Yeah. So it really is like a good, like a better
