0:06.4	First is bulletin from the W.O.R. Newsroom. Six members of one family have been found shot to death in their night clothes in their expensive home in Amityville, Long Island.
0:17.2	The only available information at this moment, according to the Amityville Village Police, is that the victims have been identified as members of the Defeo family.
0:27.5	They were found by a 23-year-old son, Ronald Defeo, who is believed to be the only surviving member of the family.

1:41.8	The book was a huge hit. The movie was a huge hit. And a lot of people
1:45.1	do know the background of the house, that this was the scene of a horrifying mass murder. How much
1:51.1	that in reality influences or how much that in reality is responsible for the story of the
1:58.1	Lutz's that came after the family that was slaughtered, how much that impacts
2:02.6	our perception of it. And again, the reality of whether or not this house is haunted is truly
2:07.7	fascinating. And again, a lot of facets here. So really excited to present this for the first time on
2:12.9	this show, the story of the Defeo family, the family that came before the Lutz's. But there's even more to it.
