Phil Hammond has just published a book called Dr Hammond's COVID case book and it's very

eye-related because it consists of his columns published in the eye between the beginning of the

pandemic and now. It's a fascinating book, it's full of interesting stuff which you may have been

reading in the magazine as it's gone along and now it's all collected in one place together.

So I started off my conversation with Phil by congratulating him. Surely the fact that he's

publishing a book now means it's all over, done and dusted, well done to him and the rest

of the NHS on a pandemic well handled and now in its mission accomplished phase.

If only, well the Euros is, the Olympics is, the British Lions Tour is, not sure the pandemic is.

Okay. Who knows, it's sort of suggesting at the moment that the vaccines are working brilliantly

and that's been the real success story of all of this is that the vaccine works and loads of

people have had them and that seems to be as well as stopping people going to hospital and dying.

It's also stopping transmission. So that's a really good news story but we sort of were
