Welcome to the game to your life. I'm Dave Anderson. It's time for our Friday.

Two-minute warning edition posted on Fridays and designed to give you something to think

about, watch for, or to do to finish your week strong and maximize your weekend. I will also include

an occasional red zone rant, and that happens today. I want to talk about the topic,

don't make it about you. Here's the bottom line. If you attend an event and you are invited as a guest,

it may be a wedding, a dinner party, it could be a funeral you're attending, right? It could be a

birthday party. Don't make it about you. Don't complain. Don't create drama. Don't do things to get

attention. Don't make yourself the story. Listen, your role in that situation as a game changer

in all areas of your life is to be humble, supportive, encouraging, and serving, right?

Know your role, know your place. I was at a funeral. I was at a funeral for my brother just two

or three weeks ago. And an immediate family member didn't go out to dinner with family he would

probably never see

again because we were all together for the first time in decades because he didn't feel he was

given the right seating or the right mention in the appropriate place and the prime place during

the service and so rather than go out with the rest of us he made it about him he went to his hotel

room and he pouted.

Now, that's what I'm talking about. I talked to his wife a couple weeks later, told me how bad his feelings were heard. I said, listen, it wasn't about him, it wasn't about you, it wasn't about me. It was about my brother. What a shame that he would create the drama to make it about him. But you know what, folks, this happens a lot.

Let me say it real clear.

If it's not about you, if it's not supposed to be about you, don't make it about you. It's not supposed to be about you. It'll never be about you until it's about you. Be humble, supportive, encouraging, serving. In other words, know your role and get over yourself. Everyone else has. By the way, you may not be able to add years to your life,

but you can add life to your years and you can start now. Stop being lived and start living the game change your life by not making it about you if it's not supposed to be about you.
