What animal do you bring as tribute to it?

This week, I'm talking about emus.

Yay.

The scientific name Dromaeus, Novi-Hollendii.

That's quite a lot.

So the second part of that scientific name, the Novi-Hollendiai, is a reference to New Holland,

which was a historical European name for the continent of Australia.

Oh, wow.

Long, long, long time ago, Europeans called it New Holland.

Interesting.

It's not that anymore.
