| 0:07.0 | Almost 30 is not about your age, it's about the feeling. All of us are almost something, seeking community and resources to support the rumblings of transformation within us. |
| 0:17.0 | Our conversations are deep dives, shepherded by our insatiable curiosity and desire for connection and during inspiration and a sense of levity that we can all benefit from. |
| 0:28.0 | We're looking to find the magic in the human experience. Buckle up baby, your evolution is waiting. |
| 0:35.0 | Hello and welcome back to Almost 30 Podcast. My name is Krista Williams and I'm a host here at Almost 30. |
| 0:42.0 | I host Almost 30 with my best friend and business partner, my soulmate, Lindsay Simpson. |
| 0:49.0 | And sometimes we do solo episodes where we drop in with you on topics and things that we're moving through that we're going through in hopes to share as openly and honestly as possible about our process in this human evolution. |
| 1:03.0 | We've been doing this for around seven years now. We are podcast OGs in the space and we like to talk about relationships, spirituality, wellness, personal growth. |
| 1:15.0 | And we like to connect with you as much as possible within each and every episode, whether it's a solo or an interview, we have a lot more at Almost 30.com on TikTok and Instagram and almost 30 podcast. |
| 1:28.0 | But let's get into this week because I'm really excited. This is something that has been super present for me, something that I'm really moving through right now. And so it's not going to be fully baked. |
| 1:40.0 | I want to explore doing episodes that I have written out less. I think on my solo episodes, I like to really write out my overview of what I'm going to talk about and what I'm going to share. |
| 1:54.0 | And I want to make sure it's as impactful and helpful as possible. I want to make sure you're getting the most out of every minute they listen almost 30. |
| 2:03.0 | But this one I wanted to do a little bit more off the cuff and I wanted to see what it felt like to just share what was on my heart in the moment and what was something that I'm really working with and something that, you know, has been really transformative for me. |
| 2:15.0 | So to back it up a little bit, I am in the process with my family where I have my father who I love very deeply and I'm very close to is sick. |
| 2:26.0 | He has Parkinson's and he was just diagnosed with Alzheimer's. So we got the double whammy of two very painful, painful diseases, two diseases that feel debilitating both mentally and physically. |
| 2:46.0 | And yeah, it's been completely heartbreaking. You know, I think for so long with the Parkinson's, I was in complete denial of the situation, which has given me so much compassion to people that are in denial of things. |
| 2:59.0 | I literally thought that to myself, I'm like, oh my god, now I can have compassion for people that live in denial of what's happening because I was almost in denial for so long until I had to face it. |
| 3:10.0 | And it was very interesting because I was with him for a few weeks to take care of him because it's gone to the point where he needs careful time eating and getting out of bed. |
| 3:20.0 | And we got the Alzheimer's diagnosis and right when we got the Alzheimer's diagnosis, it felt like that week before I had accepted the Parkinson's and I was like, okay, I'm in it. |
| 3:30.0 | Let's do it. I'm here to take care of you. I'm here to love you. And then we got that. So it's been quite the journey. |
| 3:37.0 | So there's been some things going on with my family, some family drama related to this, which can happen. You know, I think when there's such high stakes and when people are so stressed and they feel so out of sorts when someone sick, there can be family drama that comes up. |
| 3:50.0 | People are in fear because of what is happening. They are sad. They are upset. And sometimes that will manifest in weird, funky ways. |
