still and being loved. Today we are going to spend some time reflecting on the story of

the angel's announcement to Mary that she would give birth to the Messiah.

Take a moment to place yourself in a comfortable position that is both supportive and intentional.

Sit with your back straight with both feet on the floor or lie on your back

placing your hands on your belly. Inhale through your nose to the count of three.

And exhale through your mouth to the count of five.

Let's do that again.

Now find a steady rhythm of breathing in through the nose, out through the mouth.

Just let the breath flow.

Come, Holy Spirit.

Overshadow us. Fill our hearts and minds with your love as we engage with you through your word.

Renew within us an experience of your abiding presence and guiding voice in Jesus name.

Luke 1, 30 through 34, 37 and 38.

But the angel said to her, do not be afraid Mary, you have found favor with God.

You will conceive and give birth to a son and you are to call him Jesus.

He will be great and will be called the son of the most high.

The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David and he will reign over Jacob's descendants forever.

His kingdom will never end.

How will this be? Mary asked the angel since I am a virgin.

The angel answered, for no word from God will ever fail.
