Well, I want to begin this evening with a question, not a deeply theological one,

although it is rooted in deep theological issues.

If you had a pencil and a piece of paper in front of you and you were going to write about the importance of relationships

to your faith, the importance of relationships to the work of God, what would you write?

That's a rhetorical question you don't need to answer aloud for those of you

immediately got nervous.

What would you write?

If you had to write, responding to the question, are relationships essential to the work of God, what would you write?

That's really what we want to talk about for the hours that we have together.

And in order to do that, I want to lead you on a bit of a journey.
