All right, guys, all week we've been looking at the 10 elements of a

godly man. We're wrapping up this week by doing element five, but before we get there, let's do a little

bit of a recap. But before we get to that recap, I actually do need to acknowledge a mistake that I made

yesterday. So if you listen to yesterday's episode, you may have noticed that I said, I was going to employ the help of the Apostle Paul, only to then describe in detail the Apostle John and the things that the Apostle John did

and the things that he went through. And then I read from the Apostle John's letter. So obviously,

had a little bit of a brain fart. I misspoke. I meant to say the Apostle John. I said the Apostle Paul, but hey, it's the Daily Blade. Sometimes when you go fast, you make mistakes. My bad. So if you heard the old audio, that's what happened. We have switched the audio to make it

better and be fixed for the future. But that was my mistake. I acknowledge it. It is what it is. But here's

the recap for this week. Number one, element one, a godly man has surrendered his life to Christ. Element two, a godly man is selfless.

Element three, a godly man strives for holiness. And element four, a godly man is repentant.

So element five of a godly man is a godly man loves his wife as Christ love the church.

And so some of you, the moment I got through saying that, you're already like, okay, he's going to talk about Ephesians 5.

And you're right. That's exactly what I'm going to talk about because, guys, if you've done any type of a marriage retreat or read any type of Gary Thomas book or any type of thing that had to do with marriage in a Christian context, it's always coming back to Ephesians 5. So let's go and read that together. Ephesians 5, verses 22 through 33. Wives submit to your own husbands as to the Lord,

for the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is ahead of the church, his body and is himself its savior. Now, as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their

husbands. Yeah, we like that part, right? So let's keep going. Verse 25.

Husbands love your wives. As Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her having cleansed her by the washing of the water with the word, so that he might

present the church to himself in splendor without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she may be

holy and without blemish. In the same way,

husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself,

for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church.

Because we are members of his body, therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.

This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ in the church.
